The first script reading for tvN’s upcoming drama “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” has been shared behind the scenes!
“Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,” a romantic drama starring Shin Min Ah as Yoon Hye Jin, a prickly dentist with a sensitive side, and Kim Seon Ho as Hong Doo Shik, an odd-job specialist who helps everyone in town, is a remake of the film “Mr. Hong.”
Shin Min Ah and Kim Seon Ho run over their lines at the table read in the newly released video, which then flashes back to the cast members’ arrival.
Shin Min Ah introduces her role as dentist Yoon Hye Jin, who gives up a lucrative post at a clinic in Seoul owing to her unwavering sense of justice. She then relocates to Gongjin, a sleepy beach community, to start her own dentistry business.
Shin Min Ah adds, “On the outside, she may appear selfish and too particular, but on the inside, she’s incredibly warm-hearted and lovable in her own way.”
“He’s technically unemployed, and he does all kinds of part-time employment while only being paid the minimum wage,” Kim Seon Ho adds of his own character. If something happens to the people of Gongjin, he’ll be there whenever and wherever.”
Lee Sang Yi then introduces his character Ji Sung Hyun, a star of the popular variety show PD (producing director). “He ends up at Gongjin while looking for a fresh location for a variety show shoot,” the actor continues. “Chaos ensues when he encounters the character of Mr. Hong.”
Shin Min Ah says that during the script reading, she could feel the characters come to life, which made the story much more engaging. Kim Seon Ho, on the other hand, says, “I had a terrific time [during the read].” Because it was my first time meeting the elder performers, and they were hilarious and a lot of fun.”
“Today was our first time reading together, and I think [our chemistry] would be pretty good,” Shin Min Ah firmly responds when questioned about her chemistry with Kim Seon Ho. “First and foremost, [Shin Min Ah] turned out to be so lovable,” Kim Seon Ho says. I could tell by her movements and the way she read her lines today that she’ll be able to bring out Hye Jin’s charms. “I should do an excellent job aiding her by living as Doo Shik,” I reasoned.
“Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” will premiere in August. below!
